About Svetlana Sabelfeld

Svetlana's research interest is accounting, communication and accountability. In her PhD project "Investor Relations on the Web", she studied communication between listed companies and institutional investors, geographically and culturally distanced from each other. A particular question in focus was how quality of Internet reporting was enacted in practice of Investor Relations in various institutional contexts. In 2014, the study received the Oscar Sillén prize for the best PhD thesis of the year 2013 in the field of business administration in Sweden.

Since 2015, Svetlana has been involved in a research project "Accounting for sustainability: communication through integrated reports" which aims to investigate how the <IR> framework and the idea of "integrated thinking" is translated and implemented in practice, both internally in companies and externally in communication between the company and its stakeholders. Specifically, the project investigates interplay between corporate internal processes and external communication, with the focus on coordination, measurement, visualization and the use of information regarding all value dimensions (economic, social, ecological) included in the concept of integrated reporting.

Svetlana's academic and practical experience in the field of Investor Relations and financial communication covering Nordic, European and Japanese financial markets shapes international and interdisciplinary scope in her research.
