While many people flee from war and persecution, others are forced to migrate due to poverty and climate change. Others still freely explore new horizons, even into space. What’s this all about? Take a look in the newly published programme for Global Week.

Global Week at University of Gothenburg gives you an overview of human migration today. During three days you will meet diverse perspectives and be able to dive deep into questions of what the forces are behind peoples’ urgent needs – or desires – to move within countries, between countries, back to the old home country, or even to travel into outer space. You may follow discussions on the so-called migration industry and lectures about economic consequences for national states and migrating individuals alike.

Come listen to how journalism and documentary film can give dignity back to the forgotten immigrants and how migration might affect education, teaching and the labor market. Acquaint yourself with some personal stories, take part in artistic talks and in a Migration Future Lab. During the event you may also retrieve information and advice about student mobility, how to work for humanitarian help organizations and how to reach more information about the issue. This, and much more, is part of the Global Week programme.

Under one roof, over three days you will meet representatives from national and international organizations, students, researchers and other employees at University of Gothenburg.
