Om Emily Xu

Academic degree:
M.Sc. in European Studies of Society, Science, and Technology (two year ESST Master programme) from Lund University SWEDEN. 
Major in Innovation and Research Policy 
Award: Winner of 2009-2010 Nytt and Nyttigt Swedish National Innovation Thesis Competition

Research areas:
I am a PhD student of Economic Geography at CIBS, department of Business Administration, affiliating to Centre for European Research at University of Gothenburg. My general research interests lie in the geography of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and its impact on developing new type of services and solutions. My PhD project explores the new phenomenon in the ICT field- the “Internet of Things (IoT)” (sakernas internet), its impact on developing new type of services and its geographic ramifications.

Work experience:
2010-2011 - Project Manager of Mobile Vikings, which is under Vinnova leading EU project Stardust. As a cluster analyst, I worked on making company strategies towards organizational change, mainly focusing on governance and structural building for open innovation platform, cluster expansion and internationalization strategy in ICT sector.
