About Rebecka Arman

Academic degree:
Bachelor of Nursing, Masters of Business Administration, Ph.D.

Current research areas:
The focus of my dissertation was managerial work among first- and second-line managers in health care. Their time use, work fragmentation and processes of power in the negotiations of time use were explored and analysed.  Since 2010 I have worked in two research projects. The  first project developed the knowledge of restructuring practices in Sweden, in the Pharmaceutical and Retail industries. The development of work practices in the companies and their partners such as outplacement agencies, were investigated. The second research project was focused on ideologies, institutions and professional identities in the case of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) clinics. This is an example of the relationship between developments in Life Science and the institutionalization of clinical practices.

Since 2016 I am working in a research project, together with colleagues from the department and from the Department of Sociology and Work Science, concerned with Age Management. We are studying age related HR and management practices in public and private work organizations.
